About Food Split

Food Split makes it easy to divide a restaurant bill fairly among friends. Instead of splitting everything equally, you assign each dish to the person who ordered it — so everyone pays for exactly what they had.

It handles shared items, custom tip percentages, and extra fees like service charges or delivery fees. The final summary shows each person's exact share, ready to share or screenshot.

How to use

  1. Enter the subtotal — the food total before taxes or service fees. Add any extra charges.
  2. Add items — enter each dish from the receipt with its price.
  3. Assign dishes — tap each item and pick who ordered it. For shared dishes, split between multiple people.
  4. See results — each person's total is calculated and displayed instantly.

Frequently asked questions

Can I split a dish between multiple people?

Yes. When assigning a dish, tap "Split" to divide it among multiple people. By default it splits evenly, but you can customize each person's percentage.

How are shared fees handled?

Extra fees like tax or service charges are split proportionally based on each person's food subtotal — so people who ordered more pay a larger share of the fees.

How many people can I add?

There's no hard limit. Food Split works for groups of any size.

Is my data saved?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser. Nothing is stored on a server, and the bill resets when you start over or close the page.
